We are proud to see so many of our Members recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2020 for their achievements, especially in the fight against COVID-19.

Throughout these unprecedented times, engineers have stepped up and often led the response to the pandemic. Engineers have helped to build ventilators, design face shields, simulate disease spread and have volunteered to assist at the Nightingale Hospitals.

IMechE President Terry Spall praised those who were recognised this year: “It is a fantastic to see so many of our members honoured for their work in a wide range of areas. These awards help raise the profile of engineering and highlight the contribution made by engineers to building our economy as well as spearheading solutions to the many challenges we face.”
