Institution news
Building on the success of last year’s forum, this annual gathering remains the UK’s leading platform for engineers, operators, manufacturers and service providers to exchange knowledge, benchmark performance and address the pressing challenges facing the industry, attracting an array of international speakers and attendees.
The
User Group exists to foster collaboration, professional development and the advancement of best practice in turbine and generator engineering. By uniting engineers, end-users, OEMs, researchers and service providers under one roof, the event provides a rare opportunity to discuss shared issues, examine technical and regulatory developments, and explore strategies for optimising asset reliability, efficiency and safety. Delegates will benefit from two days of presentations, discussions and networking, contributing fourteen CPD hours towards their professional development.
Peer-reviewed presentations form the backbone of the programme. Engineering end-users, manufacturers, service providers and technical experts will share insights from recent projects, delivering detailed case studies and lessons learned. These sessions allow attendees to benchmark their own operations against industry peers and take home practical knowledge that can increase output, enhance safety and minimise downtime. The call for presentations is now open, and contributors are invited to submit their abstracts at
https://forms.office.com/e/ZGpKivR4QW by 26th September at the latest.
Highlights from the 2025 event, captured in the official video now available on
YouTube, showcase the calibre of discussion and networking opportunities that delegates can expect. From major utilities and plant operators to leading OEMs and specialist service providers, the diversity of perspectives ensures that the User Group reflects the full breadth of expertise in the sector.
The 2026 programme will be of particular value to engineers involved in turbine, plant and generator engineering, as well as those working in asset design, manufacture and procurement, operations planning, maintenance and inspection, electrical engineering, or safety and compliance.
Networking remains a cornerstone of the User Group. From the official dinner to informal discussions across both days, delegates will have the chance to connect with peers, suppliers and potential collaborators.
