Training Team
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers and Loughborough University are collaborating on a new research initiative – ‘FlexiTen’ – looking at how to develop flexible, employer-focussed postgraduate-level training opportunities.
As a part of this project, we are asking you to participate by sharing your views in a survey. Funded under HEFCE’s Catalyst programme, and designed to meet the advanced skills needs of companies across the engineering sector, we aim to address a number of key high-level skills gaps, including those related to engineers’ leadership, management and commercial roles. Gaps in technology-specific skills, such as advanced system design, artificial intelligence, digital engineering and ‘smart’ data analytics will also be addressed. The 'FlexiTen' project also aims to assess how we can best cater for your specific training needs in terms of both subject matter and mode of delivery, whether face-to-face, on-line, or a blend of both. Finally, funding models (including use of Apprenticeship Levy Fund) will be assessed. With this in mind, we are looking for contributors to participate in a 20 minute on-line survey to understand you or your organisation’s skills gaps and CPD requirements. In return, we are offering a number of complimentary Team Performance Diagnostic assessments with coaching feedback from the Institution worth £300 per team in a prize draw. In order to take advantage of this offer, join us in addressing your advanced engineering skills development needs by clicking the link below.
