PE
A useful teacher's guide
Technology club teacher Caroline Alliston has published a book that contains 30 of her favourite design-and-make projects – including how to build a balloon-powered hovercraft, pop and bottle rockets and bazookas. For each project there’s a list of materials and clear instructions. Indeed, even the less technically gifted members of PE’s staff had much fun building a sailing boat out of two polystyrene foam pizza bases, a sheet of card and a handful of wooden skewers.
The book is a useful resource for teachers. And it offers engineers a really fun way of getting their own children interested in making things.
