With many professionals, engineers included, finding themselves out of work in recent months because of the pandemic, as well as other factors, a new website has been launched to boost employment within the aviation and aerospace sector.

What is the Aviation Skills Retention Platform?

The Aviation Skills Retention Platform (ASRP) is a Government-funded initiative developed by Talent Retention Solutions and supported by UK businesses.

The site was launched in February this year to help aviation industry employees, including engineers, who are ‘at risk’ of losing their jobs or have been made redundant due to the pandemic, find new jobs.

Helping fill the aviation skills gap

The platform is also playing a key on-going role in helping support skills retention throughout the UK aviation industry by enabling:

  • Talented individuals to showcase their experience and expertise and access to the latest vacancies from across the aviation sector
  • Businesses of all sizes to find the candidates they need and reach out to them directly

Chris Jarman, CEO of Talent Retention Solutions (TRS), said: “Our vision for the ASRP is to support the retention of people and skills, as well as provide a platform that offers a wider strategic solution for the recovery of the aviation industry and its development needs.

“For the first time ever, the entire sector, which includes engineering employers and employees, have one central resource they can use to help with redeployment and recruitment, skills retention and development activities industry-wide.”

Engineering job opportunities on the ASRP

The number of employers joining the ASRP to advertise their jobs and look for the right talent for their roles, and candidates uploading their details and searching the current vacancies is growing by the day.

Examples of engineering vacancies include:

  1. Lead Systems Engineer.
  2. Engineering Design Apprenticeship.
  3. Mobile Electrical Engineer.
  4. Mechanical Engineer (plant and building services).
  5. DevOps Engineer (M/F/D).
  6. Production Engineer.
  7. Software Engineering Team Leader.
  8. Principal ILS Engineer.

Next steps

If you’ve been made redundant, are at risk of being made redundant or are simply looking for your next engineering role, upload your candidate details to the ASRP.

In the meantime, follow the ASRP on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook for regular news and updates about the latest jobs to have been uploaded on the scheme.
