Terminology has changed, as have the methods and venues, but the ideals remain

So what’s new? Daanish Khan (PE Nov 2012) would have us believe that social networking is a wonderous new invention. 

The whole ethos of the Institution is, and has always been, to disseminate information. 

Terminology has changed, as have the methods and venues, but the ideals remain as they have served generations of engineers since that momentous gathering at the Queens Hotel, Birmingham in 1847. Long may it be so!
