Railway Challenge 2024 Entry Level team registration closes on 29 March
Railway Challenge 2024 Entry Level team registration closes on 29 March

For institutions which have not previously participated in the Railway Challenge, please note that you have until 29 March 2024 to enter an Entry Level team for this year’s competition.

The Entry Level option is only open for teams from institutions which have not previously participated in the competition and the intention is that this provides teams with a stepping stone towards a full entry in a future year, where it may seem too daunting to both design and construct a locomotive within a single year.

Teams taking the Entry Level option are not required to manufacture a locomotive being only required to submit a design of their proposed loco. The design must follow all rules of the main competition, but Entry Level teams must also submit a CAD model to demonstrate the overall structure of their locomotive and a more detailed design of one chosen sub-system. Entry Level teams are still expected to compete in all the other presentation challenges.

The recording is now available to view on-demand on the Institution’s YouTube channel along with an overview of the 2024 rules given by Tim Fairbrother, Team Lead / Principal Consultant - Strategic Services at AtkinsRéalis.

All participants are encouraged to follow the Railway Challenge’s Twitter and Facebook social media channels and Challenge website for updates on the competition and teams’ locomotives, and we wish all teams who have registered the best successes with their projects.
