Could you briefly explain your role, involvement, and experience related to the focus of this event?

Evan Bolle-Jones (EBJ): I have been working in the nuclear industry for eight years. I have experience in across sector including manufacturing, in service nuclear power plants, and safety case development. Over the past two years I have been leading as the technical engineering lead for the turbine hall and pump house cranes at Hinckley Point C as well as supporting the factory acceptance testing of the polar crane and supporting safety case development in the lifting team.

What, in your experience, has been the biggest roadblock for the industry over the past 2-3 years?

EBJ: I have been working in the nuclear industry for eight years.

What key topics are you excited to discuss at this year's conference?

EBJ: I am looking forward to being able to talk around the progress that has been made to get the UK's newest nuclear cranes commissioned and read for use. Since the previous conference we have made big steps to getting HPC nearer its start up date.

Who else are you most interested in hearing from on the programme?

EBJ: I am looking forward to both presentations from Sellafield about their predictive maintenance and root cause analysis. These are areas I can learn from and try to ensure the next generation of cranes take this into account in their design, installation and through life maintenance.

The Nuclear Lifting 2024 seminar will take place on 19 November 2024 at ETC Venues Manchester

Taking place for the 10th time in 2024 and the only event of its kind, this is a key forum for those conducting high risk lifting to discover engineering solutions to the technical and environmental challenges.
