Collaboration pioneered by university’s power, electronics, machines and control research group and the Faculty of Engineering
The University of Nottingham has created a research organisation in Chile, which will see a greater research collaboration with the country. The University of Nottingham Chile Fundacion gives a legal status to research carried out in the country and will also enable the university to play a more active role in the country’s research and knowledge transfer activities.
Neville Wylie, associate pro-vice-chancellor for global engagement, Americas, said: “I am delighted to see the Fundacion come into being. Our collaborations in Chile are hugely important for our global footprint and the Fundacion will help us take our relationship with this important country to a new level.”
The Fundacion marks the culmination of a process that began several years ago, led by members of Nottingham’s power, electronics, machines and control (PEMC) research group and the Faculty of Engineering’s then director for internationalisation, professor Greg Asher.
