India Student Affiliate Travels to San Diego Conference with IMechE grant
Soumya Roy, an Affiliate member with the IMechE and a Final Year Student pursing Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University has been awarded the Thomas Andrew Common Grants worth £850.
The grant was awarded to Soumya to facilitate his travel to San Diego - USA, to present a technical paper titled "Study on the Parameters Influencing Efficiency of Micro-gas Turbines" in the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Power & Energy Conference 2015.
The inspiration for drafting this technical paper came from his project to design and develop a micro-turbojet engine based on a micro-turbine. Soumya Roy firmly believes that his paper and the resultant project best fulfills the vision of the IMechE to improve the world through engineering.
Being a part of the conference proceedings provided him with a great opportunity to present his overall idea and project before the best possible "peer review committee" and is looking forward to using his experience to reach out to more people.
