National water grid

PE

In these days of worry about climate change and economic disparity the idea of working and developing locally must again come to the fore

Good points raised by Mr. Baker regarding construction of a national water grid which appears a much more intelligent use of funds than many of the other projects pervading the ether in Westminster especially in view of predictions of water shortages in the southern counties.

In these days of worry about climate change and economic disparity, surely the idea of working and developing locally must again come to the fore. Continuing developments in communications technology reduce the need for long distance travel and the extra 1/2 hour for holidays etc. is not a concern for most of us.

In response to Simon's last question I would remind him that the Prime Minister is a politician and therefore has better things to do than make himself aware of, let alone be concerned with, the practicalities of life.
