NAFEMS Launches World-Class Keynote Line-up for 2015 Congress on FEA, CFD and Related Technologies in San Diego, USA
NAFEMS, the International Association for the Engineering Analysis Community, has launched the initial keynote line-up for the 2015 NAFEMS World Congress, incorporating the 2nd International SPDM (Simulation Process and Data Management) Conference, being held in San Diego, USA, from June 21st–24th 2015.
Keynote speakers from around the globe will be part of the event, showcasing best-in-class simulation and analysis usage in many different industries. With more keynotes and invited presenters still to be announced, the event is shaping up to be the most important dedicated, independent conference on CAE of the year.
The biennial world congress will bring together the leading visionaries, developers, and practitioners of CAE-related technologies and business processes to share relevant trends and roadmaps, and to address these issues in an open forum. The aim of the congress is to provide attendees with perceptive content and perspective on the best way to position their organizations to realize the full potential of CAE both now and in the future.
Trends, Challenges & Opportunities
“The keynotes presenting at the 2015 NAFEMS World Congress represent companies that have successful implemented CAE to provide competitive advantage. Attendees to the NWC can expect to learn how engineering analysis has been used to design cutting edge products such as the BMW i Series.” commented Ian Symington, Technical Officer at NAFEMS. “The speakers cover a range of industries and provide the opportunity for attendees to see what ‘best practise’ looks outside of the confines of their own technical area. The role of engineering analysis has evolved significant over recent decades and the keynotes will offer their view on current trends and on what lies ahead in terms of challenges and opportunities.”
The Keynotes
Ferdinand Dirschmid, BMW Group - The CFRP Lightweight Structure of the BMW i8
Dr. Ahmed Noor, Old Dominion University - Potential of Cognitive Computing for Engineering Analysis and Design
Klaus-Jürgen Bathe, Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Advanced Finite Element Analysis and its Future
Johan Jergeus, Volvo Cars - Safety CAE in the development of the all new Volvo XC90
Zlatko Penzar, Continental AG - How Small (but fine) Simulations can also Radically Improve Industrial Products
Walter Schmidt, Stryker Orthopaedics - The Drive to make Healthcare Better One Patient at a Time - Challenges and Opportunities for Modeling and Simulation
Full details, as well as details on further invited speakers, are available at nafems.org/congress, where further keynote presenters will also be announced in the coming weeks.
One Registration – Two Conferences
The World Congress will also host the 2nd International Conference on Simulation Process and Data Management. After an impressive turnout for the first event in Salzburg, Austria in 2013, this ground-breaking conference will bring together industrial users, technology experts, academics and software vendors alike, allowing all those with an interest to take part in the only truly independent, international forum dedicated to SPDM. Attendees, speakers and exhibitors have free access to both events under one registration.
The Congress will cover a wide range of topics, addressing every aspect of engineering simulation in a packed three-day programme. There are also numerous sponsorship and exhibition opportunities available. Visit nafems.org/congress for full details.
