Surrey-based Physical Digital, the UK’s leading non-contact 3D scanning bureau service using GOM measurement systems, is excited by the way its technology is contributing to innovation in a wide range of industries.

The company, which has reported exceptional growth in the past 12 months, has grown to seven members of staff, moved to dedicated offices on the outskirts of Woking and has been working across the UK and around the world with a number of leading brands in the automotive, marine, energy and aerospace sectors.

The company has an established reputation for accuracy, reliability and a responsive approach, whether working on-site with clients or using the scanning facilities at the Woking office. Now employing three application engineers so that the business can work with multiple clients, Physical Digital is the go-to company for many engineering directors and project managers who need accurate 3D data they can trust.

In addition to new staff and new offices, the company has also invested in new equipment, allowing it to take on a broader variety of work and offer customers options when it comes to the best scanning results. The company has added the GOM ATOS Triple Scan and the GOM Compact Scan to its resources.

The Physical Digital team

This range of equipment means that the company can scan anything from the smallest component to an entire ocean-going liner, which is why they say “If it exists, we can scan it!”

Physical Digital is working across a number of exciting markets” said MD Tim Rapley. “I have a team of enthusiastic, pro-active and personable engineers who are delivering excellent results to a wide range of clients across the board. It’s great to be involved not just with innovative commercial projects, but also working with young people to show them just how interesting a career in engineering can be.”

Latest recruit, Tom Rathbone said, “Joining Physical Digital has been a brilliant move. Working with a motivated, experienced team means I have learned a lot and can apply my engineering knowledge to real issues. It’s an incredibly satisfying job and I’m looking forward to working with some really diverse clients.”
