Further Cost & Manufacturing guidance

Head Cost Judge John X Dangerfield shares an update for all team members working on the Cost & Manufacturing event at Formula Student 2021.

We need to clarify some points on cost report document submissions for concept class for this year‘s event. As you know things will be slightly different due to COVID-19 this year. so all concept class events will be held online. As a result, we will need your team's documents in advance this year, hence there is a deadline for concept class cost report documents.

You will need to upload your documents in line with these deadlines so the judging team can get them well in advance and evaluate them properly. This will leave more time to discuss the important aspects of your cost pack on the day of your presentation.

Please don’t confuse Formula Student and Concept Class rules with each other (especially if you have switched to Concept Class) - if in doubt please check the Key Dates documents.

Be mindful that as we are in different circumstances there will be a light touch this year with regards to penalties applied for document submissions. This is not an invitation to submit late and every case will be reviewed on its own merits: the earlier we can get that information the more time we have to pre-mark and the higher quality the feedback and advice we will give you at the event will be.
