Free webinar: How to use the Institution’s Virtual Library

Institution News Team

Members of the Institution can find out how to make the most of the Virtual Library during a free, 45-minute webinar on 8 October 2014, at 3pm (GST).

According to Peter Golkin, “My two favourite things in life are libraries and bicycles. They both move people forward without wasting anything. The perfect day: riding a bike to the library.”

Did you know that the Institution’s Virtual Library includes thousands of full-text engineering handbooks and eJournals, technical data and the Engineering Village 2 abstract database?

As an Institution member you can use these resources online and for free worldwide and without the need for a bicycle.

If you’re a member of the Institution and are unsure how to use the Virtual Library, then you can also join a free 45-minute webinar on the Institution’s Ebrary on 8 October 2014, at 3pm (GST).

The Ebrary offers access to over 500 engineering and management eBooks and allows members to save and annotate titles to their personal bookshelf and download chapters and books to PCs, tablets and smartphones.

The webinar will cover:

  • searching and browsing eBook content on Ebrary
  • personal library – creating and maintaining bookshelves
  • collaboration – sharing at title and collection level
  • new Ebrary reader functionalities: online reading, highlighting, annotations
  • questions and answers

What: Virtual Library/Ebrary webinar
When: 8 October 2014, 3pm – 3.45pm GST
