Driven to Cure

UGRacing come together to raise funds for their teammate's stem cell transplant.

While Formula Student challenges students to design, build and run a race car, sometimes life throws us slightly bigger challenges to overcome.

UGRacing at University of Glasgow have come together and set up a Just Giving fund to support their head of logistics Eve, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, a type of blood cancer.

From the team:

"Eve's unfortunate diagnoses has inspired UGRacing to support her, and others facing blood cancers and blood disorders, by raising money and awareness for Anthony Nolan and the life-saving work they do. "

The team will be doing this by:

  • Joining the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow register, thus becoming a potential lifesaver
  • Taking on the Ben Nevis challenge to raise vital funds for Anthony Nolan.

It's great to see the Formula Student community come together to support this cause! For more details and to contribute, check out the Just Giving page. Best of luck to Eve and the team in their fundraising efforts!

In the meantime, UGRacing are on the final stretch before for Silverstone; check our their team website for details of their car and the latest preparations.
