Salary: £60,272 - £67,496 (inclusive of MPP) dependent on experience plus industry leading benefits including an outstanding pension scheme

Our scientists and engineers are working with partners around the globe to develop fusion as a new source of clean energy for tomorrow`s power stations. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic leader for the Engineering Design Unit, which provides pivotal engineering input into projects spanning the diverse Authority portfolio. The work covers the full project life cycle from concept through design, installation, commissioning and critical support to operations. You will be expected to nurture excellence in the group both technically and managerially, as well as lead a significant programme personally.

Knowledge skills and experience

Essential

   •     A degree or equivalent in engineering or related discipline

   •     Professional engineering qualification

   •     Track record of delivering complex technical design projects to budget, time and cost

   •     Passion for ensuring good design management practices and culture

   •     Experience of leading and managing multi-disciplinary teams and developing organisations

   •     Good background knowledge and understanding of fusion science, technology and engineering

   •     Strategic and innovative thinker

   •     Passion for diversity and inclusion

   •     Excellent influencing and collaboration skills

   •     Commercially astute

   •     Familiarity with modern standards in the areas of Safety, Health and Environment, Design, and Quality Assurance
