More than 30 employers and recruiters will be at the National Engineering and Construction Recruitment Exhibition looking to identify talented engineers and graduates to fill vacancies in their organisations.
The event is free and representatives from the Institution will be on hand to give attendees advice on the benefits of professional registration.
The exhibition will include:
- hundreds of job vacancies from some of the world's top engineering employers
- a careers advice lounge
- one-to-one CV consultations
- an interview clinic
- a Professional Development Hub
Organisations at the exhibition will include: AMEC, Babcock, BAE Systems, British Antarctic Survey, Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Network Rail, Royal Air Force (RAF), Royal Navy, Safran Power UK, Science & Technology Facilities Council, The Engineering Council and The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS).
According to organisers, highlights of the two-day event will include an interview clinic where a careers expert from Talent Transitions will be on hand to offer support and advice on interviewing.
Attendees will be able to find out:
- how to prepare for an interview
- the types of interview questions they might to expect to hear
- how to show off their skills and experience
- top tips on how to improve their chances of getting to the next round of the recruitment process
Those attending the Careers Advice Lounge, will be able to meet with careers experts who will be on hand to discuss all aspects of engineering careers, including how to approach employers and ways that candidates can sell themselves to potential employers.
Attendees will also be able to meet with representatives from the Engineering Council as well as the Institution to discuss ways that engineers can develop their careers.
Career presentations
The exhibition will also feature a series of free presentations from a range of engineering companies giving attendees an insight into:
- what career opportunities are on offer
- how candidates can get their CV noticed
- what the application process will involve
