An ode to engineers

I have carried this cutting with me for most of my 49 year career

My impending 70th birthday has necessitated me applying for a new Photo Card Driving Licence.

When taking my old paper licence from it's protective wallet I came across the attached cutting which I have carried with me for most of my 49 year career in manufacturing industry.

It was originally printed in the Institute magazine following a particular vociferous debate in the letter pages on that old chestnut, "the Status of Engineers"!
