Cordelia will be speaking at this year's Simulation and Modelling conference, for further details please visit the event website.
Could you briefly explain your role, involvement, and experience related to the focus of this event?
Cordelia Mattuvarkuzhali Ezhilarasu (CME): I am a Senior II AI Research Scientist at SLB Cambridge Research. I am working in Process and Systems teams in New Energy division, focusing on modelling and simulation of alkaline electrolysers for green hydrogen production, with advanced AI techniques contributing to scaling up of systems through digital twins. Previous to this role, I have worked on digital twins, system level prognostics and health management and AI reasoning in complex systems like aircraft systems, drilling equipment and solid oxide fuel cells.
What key topics are you excited to discuss at this year's conference?
CME: Digital twins scalability and interoperability, AI techniques in modelling and simulation.
What do you consider to be the key areas of innovation in this industry, both in the UK and internationally?
CME: Simulation and modelling has been evolving with the advanced AI and computation landscape. In my opinion, future lies in the key areas of optimization and scalability, interoperability by breaking siloes, multiphysics modelling, and reduction of computation expense by leveraging AI.
Who else are you most interested in hearing from on the programme?
CME: I am looking forward to the talks from all peers about advancements in this field with different applications from both industry and academia.
Why is it important for engineers to join this conference?
CME: Simulation and Modelling is integrated part of any engineering innovation process, whatever the product maybe. It will be a wonderful opportunity to learn from peers of this field, as every engineer can take away some knowledge that is relevant to their roles, whether it is about digital twins or AI methods or advanced sensors or how best to utilise data in the further stages of product lifecycle.
This year's Simulation and Modelling conference will take place on 30 Sep - 1 Oct in Birmingham, bringing together this dedicated engineering community to share recent advances, insights from projects, best practice, and lessons learned.
