This week comments made by the Institution’s Peter Finegold received national, regional and trade pick-up; there was coverage of an article written by Dr Tim Fox on fracking and shale gas; and Formula Student was the subject of an article in Scotland’s national press.

BBC News featured comments made by the Institution’s Peter Finegold following Labour’s announcement of guaranteed apprenticeships for all qualified students in England (included at 16.33). Peter’s comments also featured in The Manufacturer, Process & Controls Today, The Economic Voice, Sustainable Engineer and the Coleshill Post.

 

An opinion piece by Dr Tim Fox about why the UK must press ahead with Shale Gas exploration, and the vital role engineers will play in this process. The article coincides with the Institution’s UK Shale Gas summit which takes place next week.

Coverage of the Institution’s decision to merge educational grant schemes with the Institution of Engineering and Technology. The newly created Engineering Education Grant Scheme (EEGS) has been designed to make funding applications to the institutions more streamlined and consistent, promote partnership working and strengthen how successful interventions are measured.
