Aerospace Division: How we are governed

Paul Fromme is the Chair of the Aerospace Division (since 2025), having previously chaired the Aerospace Materials and Structures Technical Activity Committee (AMSTAC) for 6 years. He works at University College London (UCL) as Professor of Mechanics and has progressed from fatigue crack monitoring during his PhD to composite structures. Hard to believe, but he used to an avid runner, having completed the London marathon a couple of times.

Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Sirigina, a 1996 NIT Warangal Mechanical Engineering graduate, is a highly experienced engineer with 28 years of experience in the Aerospace, Infrastructure, and Nuclear sectors. Currently an Associate Principal Engineer at AtkinsRéalis, he is a Fellow of IMechE (UK) and IEI (India). An expert in structural analysis and FEA, he has contributed to programs like ALH, Airbus A380, and Boeing 787.

At AtkinsRéalis for 13 years, he leads projects in design, analysis, and structural integrity, specializing in aerospace structures, power plants, and finite element analysis with tools such as ANSYS, MSC Patran/Nastran, and Abaqus. He has mentored over 25 engineers towards professional registration and won IMechE’s 2024 global technical paper competition.
