Railway Challenge

The Railway Challenge, now in its fifteenth year and organised by our Railway Division, provides a brilliant opportunity for aspiring teams of university students, as well as apprentices and graduates working in industry across the world to test their business acumen, design ability and technical skills in a live test environment.

For the 2026 competition, a key change is to move requirements not related to the design of the locomotive from the Technical Specification to the Rules. In addition, all scoring requirements for the respective challenges have been moved from section B to section C in the rules under the corresponding challenge.
