Our Audit & Risk Assurance Committee (ARAC) plays a vital role in ensuring robust governance, effective risk management and financial integrity. As a member of this influential committee that reports into the Trustee Board, you will help shape strategic decisions and strengthen internal controls and risk management across the organisation (including its trading subsidiary).

A committee member’s role is to fully participate in the discharge of all Committee functions, as set out in its Terms of Reference, including attending meetings.

About you

Members of the committee will ideally have a combination of the attributes listed in the Role Description and Person Specification, bearing in mind that it would be rare to find all the skills in one person.

Audit and Risk experience is essential for the Deputy Chair role.

Role overview

• Contribute to discussions on governance, risk, compliance and audit.
• Provide independent challenge and insight.
• Support continuous improvement across assurance frameworks.
• Review financial reporting and internal controls.

In addition to the above

• Support the ARAC Chair in leading the committee and ensure that the committee fulfills its assurance function
• Assist with risk deep dives
• Chair meetings when required (in the absence of the ARAC Chair)
• Help drive forward effective committee performance
• Act as a key point of contact for the committee

How much time it will take

• Regular committee meetings (typically quarterly, but up to seven meetings per year). Meetings can be physical, virtual or hybrid.
• Preparation and review of papers in advance of meetings
• erm length: The appointed members will serve a term of office of up to three years that is extendable for a second term of up to three years.
