Tools, techniques, aplications and limitations.
This course provides an understanding and awareness of the tools and techniques available for hazard identification, where they can be applied and what limitations may exist.
Hazard identification is the first step of the risk assessment process and a hazard missed is a hazard uncontrolled.
Delegates will get equipped to be able to choose the correct technique in different situations and stages in the project lifecycle. Key techniques covered include FMEA, HAZOP and Fault Trees and Event Tree analysis.
As an engineer you must take responsibility for controlling the hazards and risks throughout engineering processes in order to maintain safe operating procedures and minimise loss.
You will be introduced to the concept of HAZID, including the HAZID team and process, and a range of other hazard identification techniques.
The course also provides guidance on how to facilitate Hazard Identification meetings.
This course will be delivered using interactive virtual classroom technology.
Session 1: 9.30 am – 12.45 pm (15 min break at 11.00 am)
Lunch break: 12:45 to 1.30 pm
Session 2: 1.30 pm – 4.45 pm (15 min break at 3.00 pm)
Standard Learning Credits
If you wish to use your Standard Learning Credits (SLC), 80% of the cost (up to £175) could be claimed back through the SLC process, minimising the costs to you, who will only need to cover the remaining £45.
How to claim SLC
- Complete the MOD Form 1950 and follow the necessary steps to have it approved
- Book the course you wish to undertake
- Upon completion, you will receive a certificate that provides proof of training
- Claim 80% of the course fee up to a maximum of £175 per financial year
