Summary

Understand how correct pump testing techniques can be used as part of a holistic pump system approach.

Designed to enhance knowledge and skills associated with all element of pump performance testing, and how to assess a pump against the international standards in various industries.

This course considers the implications of the method of testing (either conventional or thermodynamic) and the standard test rigs that manufacturers' may use. It also expands on the implications of various types of measurement instruments, how they should be installed, their limitation and how, if they are not utilised correctly, how they may impact on the quality of the data collected and the overall impact on the overall uncertainty of the results.

Finally, the course looks at the various national and international standards that are enforce for performance testing and to ensure that the professional engineer has the skills to assess the performance of the unit.  The day's learning is reinforced with a series of group sessions and worked example.

Prior attendance of Pumping Fundamentals or a good understanding of pump basis is a pre-requisite for this course

Who should attend?

Anyone involved in supplying, maintaining or overseeing pumps and systems as part of their operational function and for commissioning and accepting new or rehabilitated pumping plant.
