PRIZE DRAW
TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The Prize Draw is not open to employees or agencies of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (“IMechE”), its group companies, or anyone professionally connected with the Prize Draw.

The survey prize draw (the “Prize Draw”) is open to individuals aged 18 years or over.

By entering the Prize Draw, entrants will be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.

How to enter

To enter the Prize Draw, you must provide your name and email address via the prize draw form at the end of the survey.

If you have any questions regarding entry, please email marcomms@imeche.org with “IMechE Survey Prize Draw” in the subject line.

Only one entry per person is permitted. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted, and joint submissions are not allowed. The entrant will be deemed to be the owner of the email address used to enter.

IMechE accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, or cannot be delivered or entered due to any technical or other reason. Proof of transmission is not proof of receipt.

Opening and closing dates

The Prize Draw opens at 00:01 on 12 June 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 12 July 2026. Entries received outside this period will not be considered.

Prize

One winner will receive a free place at either:

• an IMechE event, or
• a one-day IMechE training course,

of their choice (subject to availability).

Training exclusions apply: the prize excludes eLearning, CMI, APM, and any other qualifications.

The selected event or course is subject to it running and availability, and to IMechE’s standard booking terms and conditions.

IMechE accepts no responsibility for any costs not expressly included in the prize, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, subsistence, or any additional fees.

Winner selection and notification

The winner will be selected at random from all valid entries in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will take place on or shortly after 15 July 2026.

The winner will be notified by email and provided with details on how to claim their prize.

If a winner does not respond within 14 days of notification, the prize will be forfeited and an alternative winner may be selected. The same process will apply to any replacement winner.

Publicity

The name and country of the winner can be obtained after 31 August 2026 by emailing marcomms@imeche.org.

General

The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and no cash alternative will be offered.

IMechE reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.

Data protection

IMechE will process personal data in accordance with its privacy policy.

By entering, you agree that your data will be used for the administration of the Prize Draw and to contact you regarding your entry.

Liability

IMechE accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury, or disappointment suffered by entrants as a result of participating in the Prize Draw or accepting the prize.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Changes and force majeure

IMechE reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Prize Draw where necessary due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

Governing law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
