Library and Members' Hub

Our Library and Members’ Hub offers members dedicated areas for collaborative working, meetings and private study in a unique historic setting at the heart of Westminster.

The west wing features lots of desk space, with free wireless printing, numerous charging points, two monitors, and two PCs. On the east side, circular desks for collaborative work are available, with two large sofas offering semi-enclosed meeting space and free self-service tea and coffee. A variety of seating options are available and phone calls and food are permitted.

The front section of the space offers comfortable, casual seating and an open space to enjoy the architecture, enviable views over St James’ Park, and prestige objects from the Institution’s Archive and Artefact collections.

The space offers access to resources in print and online, and a dedicated library and archive team are available for enquiries.

Members of other Professional Engineering Institutions are welcome to visit without an appointment, as are non-members attending IMechE events or accompanied by a member. Otherwise, non-members are welcome by appointment. Appointments can be made by calling or emailing the library team.
