Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Challenge STEM Lead
Lead STEM outreach activities at the annual UAS Finals held in Leicester.
Starting each October, engineering undergraduate teams undertake a full design and build cycle of an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) with a maximum takeoff mass of 10kg to undertake specific mission objectives, culminating in a final 3 day fly-off event in June/July the following year.
Local schools and colleges are invited to attend the UAS Fly Off. At the event they take part in related STEM activities, learn about engineering careers and interact with the Challenge participants and industry experts.
The UAS STEM Lead is responsible for coordinating the UAS education outreach programme.
