Education & Skills Strategy Board (ESSB) Member

The ESSB is responsible for overseeing IMechE's response to and engagement in education and skills.

Across education outreach our goal is to inspire, engage, support and influence pupils, students, teachers, careers professionals, academics, parents, education outreach stakeholders and our profession with the aim of growing and diversifying the engineering talent pipeline.

In education and skills policy our goal is to influence government, education, business and other policymakers to recognise the contributions and potential of engineering to society, to bring about change in the education, skills and CPD systems with the aim of growing and diversifying the engineering talent pipeline and workforce, and equipping them with the education and skills needed to respond to society’s challenges.

The ESSB is comprised of experts across the education and skills space. This role is ideal for a member with a background in or strong affinity to engineering education.

Time commitment and location

The board meets quarterly. Meetings are held online with one meeting per year hosted in person (virtual attendance is optional) at IMechE London headquarters.

Requirements and training

Online GDPR training as you will have access to a shared Teams space and confidential board documents.
