IMechE's Aerospace Division is seeking volunteers to support and contribute to its Technical Activity Committees (TACs).

About you

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds with experience in aerospace-related disciplines; whether you’re an early career engineer, mid-career professional, or an experienced specialist.

What you will do

As a TAC volunteer, you will be invited to:

  • Contribute technical knowledge and industry insight relevant to your expertise.
  • Support planning and delivery of technical events, webinars and workshops.
  • Help shape content that informs the aerospace community and influences best practice.
  • Collaborate with fellow aerospace professionals across industry, academia, and government.

How much time it will take

Volunteers typically attend a 3-4 committee meetings per year and support occasional additional activities or events.

TACs are specialist groups within the Aerospace Division focusing on key technical areas that are essential to aerospace engineering practice and development. Current TACs include:

  • Aerospace Materials and Structures Committee (AMSTAC):  monitors and promotes, primarily through the development of seminars and conferences, the application of materials in aerospace structures.
  • Airworthiness Committee (AIRTAC: provides a focus for discussion of military and civil airworthiness issues, contributing to the purpose of IMechE.
  • SpaceTAC: brings together UK and Global experts and representatives from the space industry and provides focal point of expertise within IMechE."
