Registration for the Design Challenge 2026 is still open for last-minute teams up to 2 weeks before each regional final taking place this year. For enquiries please email the Design Challenge team.

For 2026, we are offering three types of registration:

Concept class (£30 + VAT)
Virtual project only. Teams will not build a physical prototype. Open to teams from technical college level up to first year university undergraduates.

Foundation class (£60 + VAT)
Teams will build a device without any programmable element. Competition only has a single target. Open to teams from technical college level up to first year university undergraduates.

Advanced class (£70 + VAT)
Teams will build a device with programmable element(s). Competition has multiple targets. Open to all teams.

Please note the registration and entry fee will include VAT at 20%
