Key dates for the Design Challenge competition.

• September 2024 – Full device specifications released.
• November 2024 - Registrations open.
• February 2025 - Registrations close.
• February 2025 to March 2025 - Curricular teams build their prototypes and compete with other teams in internal university qualifiers. The winners qualify to compete at the regional finals. Extracurricular teams qualify for the regional final automatically.
• March 2025 to May 2025 - Regional Finals will be taking place in the following UK regions with the winners of these Regional Finals then moving on to compete in the National Final on 10 October 2025:
• Wessex - 25 March 2025, Battlelab, Dorchester
• North West - 26 March 2025, University of Manchester
• Greater London - 25 April 2025, Imperial College London
• North East - 30 April 2025, Northumbria University
• Yorkshire - 2 May 2025, Sheffield Hallam University
• Wales - 7 May 2025, Swansea University
• Midlands - 23 May 2025, Aston University
• Scotland - 29 May 2025, Robert Gordon University
• Friday, 10 October 2025 - National Final takes place and the Grand Champion of Design Challenge 2025 is crowned at the Institution's London headquarters at One Birdcage Walk.
