IMechE STEM Ambassador Training: Build your STEM Outreach Delivery and Confidence

For the first time, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers will be providing a series of free training sessions for its STEM Ambassadors. The training sessions which have been coordinated by Jelena Gacesa, Operations Manager of the IMechE Education Programme and will be delivered by Alexandra Knight will enable Ambassadors to build the toolbox of fun STEM activities they can deliver, as well as their confidence in public engagement.

The online training will be a series of 1-hour live Zoom sessions for up to 100 STEM Ambassadors, to run monthly until January 2022.

Each session will contain about 30 minutes on a topic that will build the STEM Ambassador’s confidence and about 30 minutes on a practical activity that will build STEM Ambassador toolboxes of simple STEM activities they can deliver in schools, either online or in person.

The STEM activities are all in the IMechE STEM at Home range but may be simplified slightly to show how the activities can be run with a younger audience. The IMechE STEM at Home website page will be referred to and all STEM Ambassadors encouraged to use this valuable resource.
