Skills and CPD awards

As a member of the Institution, you can apply for financial support to help you develop your skills and continue your professional development.

Our awards can help you cover the cost of courses, that help you gain special engineering experience.

Courses or activities include:

• Return to study courses
• Technical skills courses
• Foreign language courses
• Communication and presentational skills courses
• Company visits
• Specialist seminars and lectures.

Eligibility

• You must be a member of the Institution.

Value of the award

• Max value £1,000

Award conditions

• After the event has completed the award holder is required to submit a report to the committee. The committee may, at their discretion, ask for a presentation to the committee in lieu of a report.
• Successful applicants may not reapply within two years of the date of the award.

Award criteria

• Placements which are compulsory elements of study programmes are ineligible for this award.

Application process

Closing date: None.

• You can apply for a grant at any time during the year
• You must provide three references to support your application
• You must submit your completed application form at least one month before the event
• Your application will not be considered until we have received your three supporting references from your referees
• You can’t submit an application after an event or activity has taken place.
