National Final 2019

Throughout 2019, undergraduates competed against each other in the regional heats of this Challenge

Their challenge - to design, build and test a device to climb up the outside of a piece of 15mm copper pipe, lifting an increasing load in the form of a chain.

On 4 October 2019, at IMechE headquarters, we hosted the National Final between the winners of the respective regional finals:

First years:

• Plymouth University (Wessex Region)
• University of Central Lancaster (North West Region)
• London Southbank University (Greater London Region)
• University of Coventry (Midland Region)
• University of Durham (North East Region)
• University of Sheffield (Yorkshire Region)

Second years:

• University of Brunel (Greater London Region)
• University of Coventry (Midland Region)
