Support Network is the personal support charity for the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
We assist eligible people of all ages, wherever they are in the world. We want to help as many people as we can, so we also welcome enquiries about potential applications. You can apply if you’re:
- An Institution Member or Fellow (including affiliates and associate members)
- A former Institution Member or Fellow who has paid subscription fees for at least five years
- The spouse, widow, widower, child, relative or other dependant of any of the above
Support Network provides information, advice, and financial, emotional and practical assistance to people in need. These people could be present or past Institution members, their partners, children or other dependants.
There are a number of different ways the Institution can help, from telephone helplines providing expert advice to grants for special needs equipment.
Here's how we help:
To apply for help, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or via Tel + 44 (0)20 7304 6818. We look forward to hearing from you.
We rely on our team of volunteer visitors to help us assess new applications for support and keep in touch with our beneficiaries.
Around half of our members back the Support Network in one way or another, mostly by making a voluntary £10 donation with their annual subscription, but also through payroll giving, Gift Aid and regular payments throughout the year. Find out how you can help by volunteering or making a donation.
