IEng – Incorporated Engineer
The other route to registration is as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). IEng Students normally have Bachelors Level Knowledge or an HND with further learning.
The IEng Registration process will give you:
- An ability to act as exponents of today's technology through creativity and innovation
- Opportunities to maintain and manage applications of current and developing technologies
- Become engaged in a variety of technical and commercial management situations
Typically, a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or an HND with further learning is required to begin the registration process, along with around three or more years of professional experience.
Your route to becoming an Incorporated Engineer
- Complete Bachelors Degree or an HND with further learning
- Begin your Initial Professional Development by finding a company to gain experience with through the Monitored Professional Development Scheme or independently through the Professional Review Report route
- Take your opportunities and monitor your progress through reports, feedback and meetings
- After three years in a professional environment you will be ready to compile your final report and prepare for your final interview with IMechE
