The Members’ Business Centre is located on the lower ground floor of the Institution's HQ at One Birdcage Walk. Simply show your current membership card at reception and then follow the signs down to the lower ground floor.

Opening times

The Business Centre is open on weekdays from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm.

Benefits to members

The Members’ Business Centre is provided for the exclusive use of IMechE Members and comprises:

• 3 modern and well appointed conference rooms
• A comfortable lounge and four fully equipped work stations
• Complimentary wi-fi
• Use of the PC, telephone and photocopier is provided free of charge to Members, together with complimentary tea and coffee.
• If you prefer, lunch and refreshments can be delivered to your meeting room. Menu options and prices are available from the Business Centre secretary.    

Who can use it?

• The Members’ Business Centre is provided for the benefit of all Members of the Institution (from Affiliates to Fellows) and their guests.
• The facility is very much in demand and Members are therefore requested not to use the facility as a base for conducting their business on a routine basis but rather to treat it as a base when visiting London on 'other business'. Members are also requested to have due regard to the cost of telephone calls, faxes and emails/use of the internet.

How to book

Bookings must be made in an IMechE Member’s name and the IMechE Member must be among the users of the room.

On the day

If the facility has not been booked already, then on the day it is required the room may be allocated to Members by the Business Centre secretary on a first come first served basis at no charge.

Other rooms available for hire

Should any Member require the use of conference room facilities on a more regular basis or for a specific business or social event, other rooms are available in the building at significantly discounted rate for Members. The Business Centre secretary can advise Members on other facilities available within the building.
