If you decide to change your mentor within your organisation, you must inform us so that we can connect your records online and allow your new mentor to approve your reports. Please make sure your current mentor approves your reports before you change.

Remember that your mentor must be CEng or IEng. This does not have to be with IMechE, as long as they are registered with the EC(UK) through a professional institution, and provide an EC(UK) registration number for verification.

If you are changing mentor as part of a move to a new organisation, please include this information on your transfer form (See Change of company)

If your new mentor is not registered as a mentor with us, please ask them to read the “Be a mentor” section of this website, and register with us.

If they are already registered, please email mpds@imeche.org with the heading “Change of Mentor” and include

- your name and membership number,

- and your mentor’s name and membership/IMechE reference number.
