Completion of MPDS & Application to MIMechE

On completing MPDS you will have a package of reports to support your application for Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.

If you reach the end of Year 4 on MPDS and you or your mentor feel that you need more time to develop the competences, you can remain on the scheme for a further period. Contact mpds@imeche.org to inform us of this.

Apply for CEng or IEng MIMechE within 6 months of your MPDS completion date. If you do not apply within this period we may ask you to supply an additional Professional Review Report to support your application. If you are applying outside this period, contact MPDS Administration on mpds@imeche.org

Sponsors:

MPDS applicants require only one sponsor in addition to the mentor. Both the mentor and sponsor must sign section 2 of the application form, and the sponsor must complete the sponsor form.

MPDS reports:

• 3 copies all quarterly reports for the final two years i.e. 8 quarterly reports. (double sided copying)
• 3 copies of your Final year MPDS Annual Assessment Report (double sided copying)

The panel requires authenticated e-MPDS copies, or for previous paper records, 3 copies signed by your mentor. The mentor comments provide the assessment part of MPDS and assist the interview panel with an overview of you as the candidate. Paper Final Assessment reports must have the mentor’s signature in the statement box on page 4.

· Degree certificate/s, 1 authenticated photocopy is required only if applicants are transferring from Affiliate class membership
