ASME for IMechE

DESCRIPTION

For engineers, technical professionals, and others who hope to manage the finance and procurement function of their organisations, this course is just in time, which, incidentally, is one of the inventory control procedures it covers. It also discusses other methods of supply chain management, and what inventory control software to employ. On the finance side, the course covers accounting and budgeting procedures, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, budgeting, and business plan fundamentals. How to get the funds you need over the short and long term is also discussed from the perspectives of identifying available and alternative funding sources, financial constraints you may face, developing funding proposals and implementing funding plans. The course considers economic analysis techniques such as determining net present value and return on investment, and how to factor in economic equivalence, inflation, purchasing power of money, and estimation of costs. Capital budget and resource planning deals with cost of capital, working capital management, profitability and liquidity, cash flow analysis, tax effects, and capital rationing. The course also covers procurement and contract procedures.
