DESCRIPTION

You’ve learned the basics of Project Management. You’ve applied it to some of your projects and seen some improvement. But your results aren’t that much better. Projects are still late, resources get overloaded and it still takes heroic action to get things done.  The problem is not with your Project Management.  It's with your system. This course will teach engineering managers how to manage a portfolio of projects and a finite pool of resources at an operational or tactical level by applying Lean Principles to increase project throughput and to stop wasting time and resources on low value projects. Through a series of lectures, hands-on exercises, simulations and case studies, participants will be able to develop an action plan for creating Lean Project Portfolios in their organization and have the information needed to implement that plan.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This course is particularly well-suited for managers of engineering and R&D resources in product development environments. Specifically:

Business Unit Managers - responsible for division productivity and cost
Resource Managers (Directors and Technical Managers) - responsible for allocating resources to project initiatives.
Project Managers - responsible for securing resources to achieve their project deliverables.
Cost Managers - responsible for managing the deployment of fixed asset resources.
