3-Day COURSE

Aim:The aim of this course is to introduce participants to management concepts, models and approaches. It has been designed to equip managers at any level with the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required of the modern manager. 

This modular course can be tailored to meet time and content requirements

OBJECTIVES

By the end of the course delegates will be able to:

·         Explain the difference between leadership and management

·         Apply a functional approach to management

·         Manage performance by SMART objectives

·         Apply a scorecard approach to performance managing their part of the business   

·         Choose from any one of six leadership styles

·         Give corrective and developmental feedback

·         Apply coaching and mentoring skills

·         Draw on at least three theories on workplace motivation

·         Apply a step by step approach to conducting a performance  review meeting

·         Describe the purpose of formal employee relations policies & procedures and explain their role within them

·         Implement a fundamental management  skills action plan back at the workplace
