ASME for IMechE

DESCRIPTION

This course covers manufacturability issues and methodologies, including going into pilot production and getting feedback; assessing product feasibility; planning and development tools; and designing for manufacturing and assembly/disassembly procedures. It examines when to use Kaizan and Lean production techniques, quality analysis techniques such as TQM and Six Sigma, simulation models, and techniques such as Robust Design to design experiments. Attendees learn the tools and techniques they need to evaluate manufacturability of one product versus alternative ones based on technical and practicality factors as well as the assessment of prototypes. It covers computer systems for determining product feasibility, system design methodology, and life cycle engineering analysis.
