Volunteering commitments for an IMechE Ambassador range from participation in one-off events to a more in-depth commitment over several months.

Our Ambassadors help us challenge stereotypes about engineering and change people’s perceptions of the industry through a range of activities.

Examples of the roles performed by our Ambassadors include:

• Acting as a media spokesperson on behalf of the IMechE
• Visiting schools and colleges to promote engineering to students
• Helping at IMechE events such as Formula Student, Engineering Your Future or Greenpower
• Joining regional and industry sector committees
• Supporting the membership process
