  • Engineering out fashion waste

    Annual growth in global demand for clothing is projected to increase from 1.5% in 2016 to between 3.5 and 4.5% by the end of 2018, and is likely to continue to grow beyond this.

  • Manufacturing and Engineering Annual Report 2017/18

    Now in its sixth year, the MHA Manufacturing and Engineering Survey continues to point to sector trends and highlights the challenges and opportunities that our makers and engineers face.

  • UK Engineering 2016

    In March 2016 ICE, IET and IMechE commissioned John Uff QC to lead a review of UK professional engineering. In response the three institutions have agreed to put in place five work streams.

  • Manufacturing prospects report

    The Institution and BDO accountants and business advisers carried out a survey that questioned manufacturing companies to ask their opinions on the likely effects of Brexit on their businesses.

  • Engineering a future outside the EU: securing the best outcome for the UK

    This report hails the government’s renewed focus on industrial strategy as a major opportunity to help the UK compete on the world stage, but warns that Brexit must not restrict access to engineering skills from across Europe.
