In October 2017, IMechE UTM Student Chapter Affiliate member, Ang Wei Lung won the Frederic Barnes Waldron 'Best Student' Award.
The award was presented by Associate Prof. Ir. Dr. Zaini Ahmad, Academic Liaison Officer (ALO) of IMechE UTM SC during the Dean Awards and Certificate ceremony at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM.
Ang Wei Lung is studying for a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) Mechanical-Aeronautic at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He has shown great passion for growth in his academic and self development. Throughout his four years at UTM, he has won nine awards or scholarships and held seven leadership positions. Ang Wei Lung has also studied abroad in two countries and has been student volunteer in six countries. Moreover, he has attended thirteen international programmes and travelled to thirty-two countries. Recently, he was selected to participate the World Festival of Youth and Students held in Russia in Oct 2017. Ang Wei Lung is inspiration for others; he always keep himself on track to achieve self-improvement and realise his full potential. He is currently the President of Golden Key International Honour Society UTM Student Chapter and the Vice President of Public Relations in UTM ACES Toastmasters Club. His goal in the near future is to lead a long-term project to solve a local community problem. He aims to become a licensed aircraft engineer and, in the future, to become a CEO in aviation. He has demonstrated a consistent track record in academia, leadership and services. With so many great achievement including this award at such a young age, he will inspire the others to dream more, to achieve what they believe, to add values to the society they live and the people they interact with.
