Brother Industries (UK) Ltd, the toner cartridge manufacturers based in Wrexham, Wales, has won a coveted award at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2014.

The company was presented with a trophy at a special ceremony on Tuesday 30 September at WMG, University of Warwick, after winning the Hexagon Metrology Award for Sustainable Manufacturing.

Christopher Simpson, Chairman of the Manufacturing Excellence Awards Executive, said:

“Brother Industries (UK) Ltd is a UK company that is truly leading the way in manufacturing sustainability.

“The company reuses 95% of its components and no longer sends any waste to landfill. Brother’s Japanese parent company now regularly consults the people working in Wrexham on how to ‘design for life’ and the judges were hugely impressed with the comprehensive nature of the company’s efforts on sustainability.”

Craig McCubbin, Managing Director, from Brother Industries (UK) said:

“Sustainable manufacturing is at the heart of what we do, it’s the basis of our business model. So, we’re extremely proud to win such a prestigious award as it reflects the hard work and commitment of all our staff to make manufacturing sustainable.”
