Can I become an Associate?
Associate Membership is for graduates with a degree in an Engineering-related subject, such as:
- IMechE-accredited degree
- UK Engineering degree
- UK Maths, Physics or other relevant Science degree
- Engineering Council graduate diploma
- Overseas Engineering degree which meets IMechE requirements

How much will it cost me to apply?
The application fee is £35. However, this fee will be waived if you apply before September in the year of your graduation.

What paperwork do I need to apply?
You will need a completed
application form , an
application fee if not applying immediately after graduation, and a copy of your degree certificate authenticated by one of the following, who should state that “this is a true and fair copy of the original” in writing on the copy and add their name and position:
- The university you graduated from
- A Chartered Engineer (or the equivalent level of professional registration overseas)
- A senior management figure within your organisation
- A member of your company’s HR department

I have an overseas Engineering degree – can I become an Associate?
Most overseas Engineering degrees are acceptable for Associate Membership. Degrees from European countries and countries covered by the
